Well, big enough.
Lots of work still to be done--while workers put in granite yesterday and the baby napped--I created the above header.
I would love to say it was a snap, but that would be lying.
It totally took more time than I am willing to divulge but I'm happy with the outcome: )

The stairs are gorgeous! And I once made my own header and it took me FOREVER! I got so stressed doing it I knew I could never do it again. ;) Yours looks great!
