July 6, 2012

Vacation has been in full swing over here since dad has been home to join in our summer fun!  Last weekend we headed out to our timeshare in Vegas with the kids in tow.  We had big plans to visit my sister in law and nieces, hang out by the pool and relax.  That is it.  We made no plans to see shows, visit any kind of kid friendly attractions or anything.  We simply wanted to rest up and relax. . .which we did!  We were also hoping to see my sister in laws new place. . .she was a week overdue in getting her keys, but it didn't happen so we just helped her move into the moving truck instead.  So sad, but that just means we will need to come back soon to get a glimpse of their new pad: )
Our resort has changed so much over the years. . .well worth the initial 2,500 investment.  There are several pools open 24 hours, a bar and grill, arcade, gym, a convenience store, and activities for the kids to participate in..
I'm wondering if you might be able to tell what they enjoyed the most.  Yes, these four days gave me glimpse of life with a pool in our own backyard.  Thankfully it is already gated--but still we had plenty to talk about with the kids in terms of pool rules and safety.  Not to mention the fact that our two-year-old needs lessons and she really has no fear, nor does she realize the consequences of being around water without her life jacket.  I will pray daily for my vigilance and diligence.

All in all, we had a great trip.  The weather was hot and the days were long and full so the nights were restful.  We ate most of our meals out so the full kitchen did go to waste a little bit this time around, but I did all our laundry the night before we came home which was a bonus--no laundry to contend with--just unpacked and put it all back in the drawers!  Our little home away from home is nice to go to when life permits.  The best part was watching E unwind and soak in fun with the kids, and reconnect with his sister.  He doesn't take the time off enough and with all the house stuff on our mind, this trip away was just what we needed!
