Janene: My face at forty will more often than not, greet you with a smile. I feel untethered by the bonds of my inhibited twenties and professional thirties. I am a recovering people pleaser, and have quieted the voice of my inner critic, while ignoring the loud voices of unasked for opinions. I no longer hold on to every detail of every conversation, second guessing what I said or what they didn't. I am not the face of fitness, style, grace, or the face of peaceful parent. I am the face of forty: a woman who knows the journey is just as beautiful as the destination. Forty feels freeing, like my soul has just opened up and embraced life to the fullest! Who I thought I was and what I thought I had to accomplish is a distant memory because I know for certain I am doing holy work and it is good. I am exactly where He has called me to be and it is enough. Finally. I am so excited about this next phase of life because it truly feels like an invitation, and I am the guest of honor.
