We officially have a mission statement!
One night last week, Ernie and I stayed up trying to write one and brainstorming a list of our most important values.
We decided to keep this simple and meaningful to our family of youngsters.
Brainstorming our list of favorite bible verses sounded something like this:
"You know that one that talks about. . ."
"What about the one that goes something like. . .
""How about the one...you know, um. . ."
We are not bible scholars, but that's okay.
We are a definite work in progress!
Ultimately, we both liked Corinthians 13:4-8
Every night we are taking three lines and making sure we understand what each means.
I love listening to the kids examples.
They get so dramatic when they are explaining/acting them out!
Our goal is to get the kids to know our mission statement by writing it, memorizing it, and ultimately living it day in and day out.
Another thing we are trying is to get the kids to have a little more ownership when it comes to devotions. We only have so long at the dinner table before the baby is done with the meal and sitting around patiently "listening."
So, we are using this devotional for the kids.
They read it on their own, copy down a verse into their journals and then we talk about it and read an additional recommended verse after dinner.
So far, so good.
Your family is such an example for me. Thank you for your amazing and kind words on my blog. I look forward to reading what you have to say. :)
